What with Madrid's numerous sports facilities, parks, and recreational spaces and Madrileños' love of physical fitness and sport, Madrid has plenty of places to get the heart racing, the blood pumping, and the opportunity to have fun and be active. The Circuito de la Casa de Campo is a well-known sports area within the huge Casa de Campo parkland and recreational area. There you can run, bike, and walk along the trails, stopping to use the outdoor exercise equipment if you wish, and simply enjoy the fresh air. At Santiago Bernabeú stadium, home of the Real Madrid soccer team, you can catch one of the top soccer teams in the world in action. Madrileños take their soccer pretty seriously, so come prepared to yell, cheer, and generally have the time of your life. During Madrid's hot summer months, the outdoor municipal pools (piscinas municipales) are the best places in the city to cool off, make new friends, and burn off some calories. Retiro Park is the Spanish capital's favorite recreational space. There you can row on the boating lake, walk or run on the cement or dirt trails, skate along the wide boulevards inside the park, or simply wander through the gardens. Then if you're into rock climbing or you want to learn how, Espacio Acción is a cool rock climbing gym that also offers lessons and organizes outdoor rock climbing excursions in the area.
