Located in the World Heritage area of Old Lyon, between Saint Jean and Saint Paul (not far from Gare Saint Paul), The Smoking Dog is an English themed pub, made special by the wall-to-wall shelves of antique books that are available for clientele to read. The books include volumes of French and English literature that have the power to quieten guests - in this usually lively pub - as they flick through the pages of antiquity.The Smoking Dog is an evening only Pub during the week, opening at 5pm and closing at 1am. Over the weekend the pub opens at the earlier time of 2pm. House attractions include a wide selection of international draught beers, live premiership football, a pub quiz on Tuesday nights and English newspapers (in case the books aren't enough reading material!).
