Description:

About 10 days before Derby, Fest-a-ville on the Waterfront launches at Waterfront Park. Part of the multi-week Derby Festival, Fest-a-Ville includes the Chow Wagon, rides, an inflatable playground, corn toss (think horseshoes or washers, depending on where you're from) shopping, movie nights, contests, and concerts by local and national artists. Adults will find grown-up beverages at the beer garden and bourbon-sampling bar. The Balloon Glimmer, part of the Great BalloonFest, and the Great Steamboat Race are also considered Fest-a-Ville events. Past performers include Uncle Kracker, En Vogue, Keith Sweat, Everclear and the B-52s. The 2011 line-up features Soul Asylum, the S.O.S Band, the Dazz Band, Todd Snider, Cage the Elephant, and local artists the Pass and the Brigid Kaelin, among others.

Admission is free with a Pegasus Pin, which can be purchased at local grocery stores, banks, the Louisville Visitors' Center, and some hotels for $4. Pets, outside food and drinks are not allowed. If the weather's nice and you like the band, it's worth attending the Fest-a-Ville.
