Located near downtown in the Butchertown neighborhood, the restaurant features "European comfort food," serving sausages stuffed by hand and meat that is smoked and cured on location. They also make the bitters for their full bar, which includes wines from sustainable sources.The Blind Pig serves lunch and dinner, with specials each weekend. Appetizers run between $7 (for the white bean puree with baguette) and $18 (meat and cheese plate) and dinner entrees between $14 and $21. All sandwiches cost between $8.50 and $10.50, and vegetarians will find a portabella mushroom sandwich, as well as salads. As part of the bacon celebration, the Blind Pig dessert menu includes Butter Pecan Bacon Brittle ice cream, with candied bacon making the occasional special appearance. For those who prefer their dessert bacon-free, the brown butter tart is a tasty treat that you won't find on many dessert menus.
