Description:
Opened in May 1905, the Seelbach's celebrity guests include Billy Joel, Al Capone and F. Scott Fitzgerald, who used the hotel as the backdrop for Tom and Daisy Buchanan's wedding in The Great Gatsby. Today, as a Hilton hotel, the Seelbach retains its lavish atmosphere, full of marble, mahogany and gold leaf trim (or at least gold paint on the carved wooden pillars). The hotel includes two restaurants (the Oakroom and Otto's Café) and the Old Seelbach Bar, as well as a Starbucks. Guests have access to a 24-hour fitness center, salon and spa, high-speed internet and 37" hi-def TV. The Seelbach is reportedly haunted by the Lady in Blue, a young woman who threw herself down an elevator shaft.
