Because it is such a large and diverse city, Los Angeles provides a whole range of top-knotch kid friendly things to do. Our number one choice is the California Science Center which offers a whole range of science learning experiences for kids, as well as an
IMAX theater next door. Other museums included here that are kid friendly include the Natural History Museum, the Petersen Automotive Museum, and the Page Museum (though the last one is included more for its proximity to the all-around wild tar pits).
The Bob Baker Marionettes deserve special mention because this theater offers such a unique performance. Admission is $20 but this puppetry show is certainly something that will be remembered for a long time.
Griffith Park is featured on this list through the Travel Town Museum and the Los Angeles Zoo. (Other kid friendly destinations in Griffith Park which have been passed over only because of lack of space are the
Griffith Observatory and the
Griffith Park Carousel.)
This list is rounded out by offbeat sites that, although not directly targeted at kids, definitely will appeal to the imagination of children.
