Fun is surely in the eye of the beholder; luckily Los Angeles has fun activities for just about everyone. In this list I have drawn from daytime fun things to do in the Southland (nightime highlights can be found elsewhere).
Griffith Park seemed like a good place to start, just because the park offers such an array of attractions for the whole family.
This is Los Angeles right, so I included some shopping destinations. Melrose Avenue features boutiques that are oriented towards the everyday shopper rather than the super-rich; a lot of sportswear and tennis-shoes can be found in the vicinity of the Melrose and Fairfax intersection. The Grove is one of those now fashionable large outdoor malls, this time in an Italian mode.
The Southland is also home to a host of amusement parks:
Knott's Berry Farm,
Six Flags, and
Universal Studio City Walk all deserve mention;
Disney made the list because its historic influence and fame.
