Thanks to the abundance of actors and actresses in the Los Angeles area, there is a wide range of theater to choose from. Grand, opulent spaces like the
Ahmanson Theatre and the
Kodak Theatre offer large-scale productions. On the other end of the spectrum, small, and funky theaters are scattered across the city. A type of venue prominent in Los Angeles is the converted Golden Era cinema house.
The Wiltern,
El Rey, and the
Mayan Theatre are examples of this species; these places now host live performances and music, or in the case of the Mayan, a dance club.
