This eye-opening experience is not unique – as the name (In the Dark?) suggests it is a French import – but this is the only place in Britain where you dine completely in the dark by choice. The idea is that deprivation of one sense (sight) will heighten other senses (taste and smell) – mais bien sûr! The waiting staff are blind and the DLN? experience is also about empathising with visually-impaired people. So far , so interesting , but is the cuisine – "innovative French" – up to the mark? Well, Prince William and Kate Middelton used to be regulars - DLN? is of course perfect for privacy - so, if it's good enough for the future king... In keeping with the theme the menu is a "surprise", as diners choose from one of four options: Fish and Seafood, Vegetarian, Meat, Chef's Surprise. Two courses cost £40, three courses cost £45.
