London comes alive in the spring just about the time our clocks move forward, adding an extra hour of daylight to our days. What better way to experience local London than to chill out in a pub with a pint? We have gathered London's top ten outdoor pub beer gardens to sample.
Most of London's finest beer gardens are just slightly further than central London where more green space can be found although most restaurants offer some sort of sidewalk dining.
Not mentioned yet noteworthy are a few strips along the Thames with fine river viewing with quite the local flavor. If space is limited at The Old Ship in Hammersmith, there are several pubs nearby: The Black Lion, The Dove and, The Rutland. London suburbs of Chiswick and Barnes also have a series of riverside pubs.
Notting Hill's Windsor Castle Pub has a cramped garden always full of activity. Mind your head and make your way through the pub's small doorways until you find the garden entrance. Cover and heaters are provided in inclement weather.
Even if the pub looks like outdoor seating couldn't be possible, do ask, gardens are often slyly hidden.
