Description:
"The greatest and most influential comedy club on the planet" giggled Time Out magazine in 2010, and who are we to disagree? Even if the idea was inspired by comedy clubs in the U.S! Whatever, the Comedy Store were the pioneers of the UK's alternative comedy scene when launched in 1979, and are still the undisputed top showcase for established and rising comedians. For a guaranteed side-splitting night, book to see the brilliant, improvisational Comedy Store Players, who entertain every Wednesday and Sunday at 8pm. Otherwise shows are Tue-Sun and last Mon of month, 8pm. If you've only just arrived in town, maybe scan the newspapers for topical UK events that may be a subject of fun. However, fear not, as the Comedy Store is used to playing to an international audience, and as well as home-grown talent, regularly features comedians and comediennes from the US and worldwide.
