Known also as the anti-stress massage centre, the Spa Aquae at the Dom Pedro Palace Hotel offers a range of different massage and beauty treatments and is one of Lisbon's favourite day spa retreats. Tastefully decorated in muted, earthy tones, carefully lit, and reflecting an ancient civilisations theme, the therapies available are designed to restore body and mind balance - favourite treatments include the hot-stone massage and inspiration message. Customers can also take advantage of a state-of-the-art cardio-fitness room, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath and an indoor heated swimming pool. A special technique known as chromotherapy, or colour therapy, is available on request. In addition to massage, the Spa Aquae has a menu of aesthetic facial toning and skin rejuvenation treatments that use caviar and retinol, among other natural ingredients.
