Tucked away on a quiet side street in Lisbon's busy Alcântara district, this pleasant eatery is well apart from the regular tourist haunts, and is somewhat off the beaten track. This may explain the fact that the window menu is written only in Chinese and Portuguese, but listed are all the dishes you'd expect to find in a quality Chinese restaurant. The interior simply decorated with traditional Chinese silk prints and the tables set with attractive blue porcelain. A favourite lunchtime venue, Xin Huá offers a different 'plate of the day' every weekday, an option popular with the local business community. The kitchen makes interesting use of herbs and spices – the beef with coriander is particularly flavoursome! A number of the fish dishes are garnished with seaweed, making this a healthy place to eat.
