An indigo blue wash decorates the façade of this upscale 4-star boutique property which is housed in a carefully renovated 18th-century building. Standing tall on a street corner overlooking Lisbon's principal thoroughfare, the hotel's gracefully styled interior is embellished with the contemporary design signature of Portuguese architect Miguel Câncio Martins who has deftly combined function with form to create a beautifully refined and appealing environment. Accommodation comprises 42 personalised rooms, with those on the top tier commanding an urban panorama that takes in the distant Castelo de São Jorge. State-of-the-art audiovisual facilities are standard and include free Wi-Fi access. Leisure options include a rectangular jet pool set under a wall mural depicting a 1920s beach scene and a fitness room and gym. A wood panelled kiosk set within the premises sells an exotic selection of gourmet tea. Breakfast is a nourishing buffet-style affair but there's no restaurant. Fortunately there's an abundance of local eateries within walking distance.
