Description:
Marble counters, spinning ceiling fans, antique wall clocks… the 1920's heritage of this traditional café is proudly upheld and attracts loyal local patronage. It also draws the tourists and can get uncomfortably busy at times. Fortunately the vintage atmosphere is still tangible and one only has to order a round of freshly baked croissants with butter and jam (Bernard's speciality) together with a hot, rich
bica (expresso) and the 21st-century is briefly banished. The tables on the outside terrace are quickly taken during warmer weather and are perfect for a cold beer, a glass of wine or a cup of freshly poured tea.
