Adrenaline Lima

Description:

Peru is a well known destination for adrenaline seekers and the country offers limitless opportunities for rafters, kayakers, climbers and trekkers. Lima also has much on offer and a stay in this capital city is sure to get the pulse racing. Unfortunately, downtown Lima is a congested and polluted place. However, it is incredibly easy to get out of town and venture to the surfer-paradises to the south of the city or to head to the hills where no end of activities await; kayaking, mountain biking and long distance hiking are all possible within arelatively short journey from central Lima. The city's biggest white-knuckle activity however is paragliding off the cliffs of Miraflores . Dozens of people do this every day and operators are often reputable and well equipped. However, be sure to shop around for the most reliable looking operator, ask around for tips and make sure your insurance policy covers this kind of activity.

Day 1 - Lima

Begin with a walk down to the malecon and walk along the cliff top, scoping out the various paragliding operators - there are plenty to choose from. Once you've made your choice, strap yourself in and throw yourself out into the sea air! You'll get a stunning view of Lima's coast and will start to appreciate exactly how vast this city is before gently gliding down to the beaches below. Head back intoMiraflores for a restoring lunch at Media Naranja, a vibrant Brazilian bar with good, cheap snacks before catching a bus east to Daytona Park, a fun-packed amusement park with entertainment for all ages. Brag about your exploits to your fellow drinkers in Bartini where a lively atmosphere continues until the early hours.
