Description:
If you want to do something different, to learn about other cultures' history, and are definitely not in the mood for much physical activity, you may want to visit this place: it will offer you a complete overview of some of the ancient civilizations that boomed in the Peruvian coast during the Pre Columbian times. The star here is the Chancay collection, that preserves some of the best and most exquisite samples of textiles and weaving from this culture, whose influence is still present in the work of some contemporary artists. Chancay pottery is also an important part of this collection, as well as art pieces from ChimĂș and Nasca civilizations. To book a visit (the museum is not open all day, and only small groups are allowed) you only need to telephone them. The visit and the guided tour are free, but visitors are expected to tip the museum (this is not mandatory, however).
