Description:
A bit pricey for local standards but with a superb cuisine and a lovely, charming place, Panchita, owned and run by the popular Peruvian chef Gaston Acurio, seeks to raise the bar and set new standards for popular creole cuisine. The star of the list are the
anticuchos, but there are many other delicious options, such as the tacu-tacu (beans and rice), the
cochinillo de 21 dias (21-day-old suckling pig), or the
Aji de Gallina for example, or the the
Lomo Saltado: you may spend some US $25 per person for a complete meal. And remember to try some of the famous Limenian desserts, like the
picarones (a kind of fried doughnuts) or the
Suspiro de LimeƱa. And of course, ask for a pisco-our (the national cocktail). The restaurant offers valet parking.
