Capitan Meléndez was inaugurated with the idea of using the old, traditional cocktail recipes, inherited from the owner's father, Felipe "Chino" Meléndez, who used to be the barman at a very important hotel in Lima. This bar offers only pisco-based drinks; they have some 80 varieties of pisco, coming from some 20 producers. But they also offer some sandwiches to go with the drinks.The place is decorated with photos and collages, many of them representing the Melendez family lifetime dedication to the pisco. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the service is good.
