You're not looking for a wild night out. You're looking for a quiet place, maybe with some music, or maybe not, but all you want is a place to sit comfortably and perhaps enjoy a nice conversation in good company... or maybe meeting some locals in a friendly, warm atmosphere.
Whether you want to while away an afternoon or are just jonseing for a cup of Joe, these are some of your go-to spots in Lima.
Most of these places are located in Miraflores, a nice district conveniently located. We suggest Cafe Milenium, and News Cafe, which not only serve coffees but also have very interesting and delicious options for lunch time.
While Haiti is a great choice anytime, Cafe Cafe is more lovely and and Antigua Bodega Dalmacia is a little more classy, thus they are better choices for the evening: you will love them.
For a more informal outing, Cafe de la Paz and Chocolat Cafe are good places: remember to try Cafe de la Paz's excellent cheese cakes.
Altomayo is a local chain that works with Peruvian coffees, and is present in some shopping malls, so you may want to give it a try.
T'Anta is also a mixing between a cafe and a restaurant, offering gourmet treats all the day, including creative drinks for the evenings; it's a great place to go with a bunch of friends, and it also sells take-away sandwiches.
