Medieval Wooden Stairs
NileGuide Expert Says:
Local Expert, Sonja Holverson tells us for the most dramatic way of discovering the Cathedral, this is it without a doubt. There is even a tiny cafe at the middle of the stairs with a terrace to enjoy the view with a refreshing drink.

Place de la Palud
Lausanne,
NileGuide Expert tip:
If you have difficulty climbing, you can reverse your discovery of the Vielle Ville and start with the Cathedral and La Cite behind the Cathedral and then descend the stairs to the Place de la Palud.
Description:
These medieval wooden stairs up lead up from the Place de la Palud to the Notre Dame Cathedral de Lausanne. The bottom of the steep stairs looking up to the Cathedral are picturesque with the old medieval buildings along side. Excellent photographs can be taken from here. There are even places to stop and rest on a bench if one tires before reaching the Cathedral. For the most dramatic way of discovering the Cathedral, this is without a doubt it.
