If you're in Las Vegas, you'll want to check out several casinos, but you'll find so much more to do when you venture beyond the slot machines and 21 tables.
The fountains at the Bellagio catapulted the resort to Hollywood-style fame with their cameo appearance in the movie "Ocean's 11." Watching the show costs nothing, and you can watch from several points along the Strip and the hotel. At the TI, the Sirens and Pirates show is also free (although you will be herded back through the casino at the end of the show), and Downtown, the Fremont Street Experience's show is free as well.
Hoover Dam is steeped in history and considered an architectural wonder. The recently completed O'Callaghan-Tillman Memorial bridge bypasses the Dam and also has a pedestrian sidewalk for those who aren't afraid of heights--and this is an amazing perspective from which to photograph the dam.
Jubilee is Las Vegas' last big production show. Here is the place to see the endangered showgirl, who used to be a staple of shows up and down the Strip, but now is fading into Las Vegas' past along with the Rat Pack and cheap buffets. The CSI Experience at the MGM Grand is Las Vegas' future: a combination of entertainment and education. If you can't resist solving crimes, this interactive exhibit will satisfy your inner crime scene investigator.
