Las Vegas hotels know about hip--they helped invent it. Every few years, Las Vegas tries out a new style of hotel, attracting fresh crowds of people curious about the city's latest creations. Themed hotels were once the rage, but in recent years a boom of luxury and sleek offerings give visitors an alternative to faux cities and bygone eras.
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is the newest Strip hotel, wedged right between the Bellagio and City Center, and it screams hip from every level of its three-story chandelier bar. The casino has areas roped off for extra privacy, and you'll find bars, restaurants, and shops tucked throughout the first three levels. The rooms are designed for elegance and class, and the views are amazing.
Next to the Cosmopolitan, Aria's sleek glass and steel design is both LEED friendly and was a pioneer in bringing sunlight in Las Vegas casinos. Both places are across from the Planet Hollywood, home to risqué shows and a movie-styled theme.
The Hard Rock continues to draw a steady stream of celebrities, as well as making appearances in reality TV shows and hosting rock legends like Carlos Santana. The Tropicana was once new and hip, but now is just hip--having come through a renovation looking great and now home to a new comedy show and the Mob Experience.
