Consider it the rugged outdoors in the wide open Pacific, Lanai has 12 restaurants on the whole island, most of them being run by hotels. Yes, this is rustic dining and living at its best. Considering the difficulty of getting actual produce to the island, many dinners at the higher class places can seem absurdly high to some, but that's the price to pay of being on this dot of land, out in the middle of nowhere. Then again, you can always go with the old Hawaiian standby of fried spam. It's easy to see why it became so popular with a lack of food options in the past.
