Add a little thrill to your trip to Lake Tahoe with some adventure. Most of these include a little speed, a little vertigo and a lot of fun.
Ride the Heavenly Flyer zipline from the top of the Heavenly mountain down to the lake. This zipline is the longest in the lower 48 states and lasts a few minutes. It drops 525 feet down to the lake at speeds of up to 50 miles per hour.
Kirkwood Ski Resort also offers a zipline course at their High Alpine Adventure Center. The course has 8 different cables each with its own characteristic of speed, heights roughly 90 feet off the ground, and breath taking scenery.
Squaw Valley also offers the Adventure Center Ropes Course where you can climb around 50-towers and swing on a giant swing, all connected with ropes and cables. Just down the road, Northstar-at-Tahoe has a 25-foot climbing wall, a ropes course, trapeze classes and a 300 foot-long zip line.
For some guided adventure, visit the
Tahoe Adventure Company in Tahoe City. They will take you on rock climbing, hiking, kayaking and mountain biking tours around the lake.
