The
Heavenly ski area is the closet ski resort to South Lake Tahoe and Stateline, Nevada. So if you are skiing, riding or even visiting the resort in the summertime, you can find tons of other things around the area to do.
Within Heavenly you can take the Heavenly Tram up to the top of the mountain where you can enjoy the view of the lake and a picnic at the overlook. You can also take a ride on the Heavenly Flyer, the longest zipline in the lower 48.
If you want to see the lake close up, just north of Heavenly is
Zephyr Cove and the M.S. Dixie II paddlewheel boat. This boat will take you on a tour of the lake and into Emerald Bay. Another paddlewheeler, the Tahoe Queen, can be boarded at the Ski Run Marina just south of Heavenly. For the adults, a few casinos can be visited just below Heavenly in Stateline.
MontBleu,
Harrah's,
Harvey's and the
Horizon offer up 24-hour gaming, dining, clubs and events.
For the kids, hitch a ride on the
Nifty Fifty Trolley. This San Francisco trolley runs from Stateline to D.L. Bliss State Park near Emerald Bay during the summer. For the family, try some trout or salmon fishing with the
Tahoe Sport Fishing Company, a balloon ride on Tahoe Balloons or just keep it simple and do have a picnic and do some swimming at the beach at
Cave Rock.
