La Jolla pretty much boils down to two things: The beach, and the art. The local beach, also known as La Jolla Shores, has sand dredged up from the deep just for your touristy desires, while the art is right up the street, awaiting your pocketbook and admire. For the dramatically inclined, the La Jolla Playhouse at UCSD is renowned for hosting an array of talent full plays, and just down the street is the Torrey Pines golf course, where Tiger Woods has roamed, cell phone in hand, texting from the fairway. If you feel the need throw yourself off a cliff, the Torrey Pines Gliderport is just a little bit further down the street. All in all, La Jolla is a playground centered around beach culture and artistic desires.
