Address:

Kongsberg, Norway

NileGuide Expert tip:

Listen to the River Harp on one side of the river, then cross Ypsilon foot bridge and have a listen on the other side.

Description:

The River Harp consist of two large steel balls on either side of Drammen River, reflecting the water flow and bridge oscillations from nearby Ypsilon pedestrian bridge and turning into lovely music. Inspired by the story of Nøkken, a water spirit in Norwegian folklore who lure people into the water with his beautiful violin music, artists Louise Bertelsen og Po Shu Wang, created this sound sculpture to appease the wicked water spirit.
