Much of the nightlife on Kauai is concentrated in the main tourist areas of Poipu, Wailua, Lihue, the Coconut Coast, Princeville, and Koloa, where you’ll find everything from local bars to chic lounges located at the island’s many five-star resort complexes.
Live music can be found around the island in hotels, resorts, and restaurants, where you can experience local talents playing everything from jazz to rock plus traditional Hawaiian music. The Kauai Concert Association offers classical music and performing arts shows regularly at the Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center located in Lihue.
Kauai also offers music venues that showcase slack key guitar and ukulele playing as well as the soothing Hawaiian music found at any authentic Hawaiian luau.
Kauai is home to a number of cultural festivals and celebrations throughout the year including Koloa Plantation Days in July, Kauai Mokihana Festival in September, and the Eo E Emalani I Alaka’i Festival in Kekaha each October.
