Surrounding Kananaskis Village are a host of winter activities, including cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on the Ribbon Creek trails near the base of the Nakiska Ski area. These groomed trails stretch for almost 60km, more than enough to keep even the most ambitious skier occupied. Also, you can skate, sleigh ride, and alpine ski near Ribbon Creek, so there are plenty of options. Nearby amenities include Delta Lodge at Kananaskis, a hostel, a daycare, a bar and restaurant, and a campground. The trail area can be accessed off of Highway 40 at the Kananaskis Village turnoff, which is about an hour away from Calgary.
