The Ades synagogue is a gem of a synagogue--built at the very beginning of the twentieth century by Jews fleeing from Syria--it has beautiful inlaid mother of pearl furniture and an intimate feel. Today in Jerusalem, the Ades synagogue is renowned for preserving the traditions of Sephardic
piyut--the penitential prayers composed in medieval times by famous poets and chanted with unique tunes.
