Cheap hotels in Jerusalem are few and far between, but those that do exist are sometimes in the best locations. Don't expect American-style budget cookie-cutter hotels in Israel's capital--what you'll find in the budget category are independent small hotels and hostels, many run by various religious groups. Most of them are in and around the Old City and are full of charm and character if not luxurious amenities.
