There is a common phrase used amongst store owners in Turkey: "All for 1 TRY". That is to denote how cheap everything is. This is sometimes also used as a label at the top of a certain basket of goods. Then it is used to refer to the basket to say that all items inside there are so cheap. Şark Han is the giftware house that compiles a variety of gift items, stationery, headbands, kitchenware and many other items that arrive from China. As such they are very very cheap. Most store owners are also actually Chinese. Not everything is obvioulsy 1 TRY; and the price tends to change from one person to the other; but is worth a look even if not to buy anything. It is a five stored building in Eminönü. You have to climb a harsh hill called the Tahtakale Yokuşu. Şark Han is to your right as you climb. It looks like any other building as you pass by. In fact it looks like a two floored ware house as you pass by. Yet, it is easy to distinguish as there are many other gift stores surrounding it.
