Description:
Ristorante Il Padrino is one of the oldest Italian restaurants in Istanbul. The first of its branches, which was opened in 1990 in Caddebostan on the Asian side, on the Bagdat Street. A new branch has been opened later in Atasehir, followed by a kebab restaurant –also in Istanbul- and then a fish restaurant in Cesme / Izmir.
Il Padrino was often talked for its ravishing pizzas. It has, nevertheless, lost some of its popularity in the modern day as competitors started dominating the scene with sometimes even better offers. It has also been surprising when Il Padrino's group company associated the brand so openly with the kebab and fish restaurants. Nonetheless, the residents on the Asian side, especially those living on the Bagdat Street, continue to pay a visit every now and then for a good pizza or pasta.
Among its favorable pastas are seafood and shrimp pasta with gorgonzolla cheese and pasta with shrimps and mushroom served with garlic and cream sauce. A nice spot definitely for lunch –if you were already shopping around Bagdat Street.
