Ortaköy is a little, cute and friendly town by the seaside on the European coast of Bosphorus. It is very well known by its street vendors of Sundays. The vendors create an open air bazaar and sell all sorts of vivid items from hair accessories to jewelry, table clothing, books, handicrafts and simple paintings.
In the recent years, nightlife in Ortaköy has also become vivid. Anjelique, the pearl of Bosphorus, has redefined the night in Ortaköy. It has been followed by the opening of Radisson Bosphorus, Zuma Restaurant of London and a few other fine dining restaurants.
If you like walking, Ortaköy is 20 minutes away from Besiktas on foot, half an hour away from Bebek and a ferry ride away from the corresponding coast. If you were looking for a somewhat trendy weekend away, Ortaköy shall not fail you.
