Description:
Galena Summit is 30 miles outside of Sun Valley/Ketchum Idaho on highway 75. At the overlook, you'll be standing about 8,000 feet above sea level. You can look out across a huge valley and get a great view of the Sawtooths, some of the most spectacular mountains in the state.
There is a small overlook with signs to tell you about the history of this area. The road was originally for use by miners. The search for silver brought many to the central Idaho mountains in search of their fortune.
Today the road passes through Stanley to Ketchum. It's a scenic drive through some of the most beautiful areas of the state.
