It gets cold, even in the peak of summer.
Description:
Big Trinity Lake is one of the Trinity Lakes northwest of Mountain Home, Idaho in the Boise National Forest. At an altitude of nearly 8,000 feet, its summer season is short as roads are packed with deep snow until well into spring.
With only 17 campsites, the campground around the lake is a primitive style. No bathrooms, just pit toilets. This is the kind of place the non-RV campers like to frequent. Fishing here is good. As is tadpole catching. There are also plenty of hiking trails.
