Boise Contemporary Theater

NileGuide Expert Says:

Every play is different. So far this season, BCT has produced The Krumblin Foundation, a two-man show featuring local favorites Tim Wilmorth and Joe Golden in a play about a local foundation. Hilarious and goofy. In contrast, Tom Ford portrayed Truman Capote recently in the one-man show, Tru. Funny at times, but just as often serious and edgy. Every show is a treat, but not all shows are for the novice theater buff.

Description:

Boise Contemporary Theater has been creating a different kind of experience in Boise for nearly 15 years. Housed in the warehouse district of Boise, the theater produces small contemporary shows, often world premieres. In a city with many theater-goers supporting many professional and community theaters, BCT is unique in producing high quality small productions with big characters. Often the shows are experimental in nature, but just as often they offer up a humorous look at modern life.

Currently showing, April 2011: The Velocity of Autumn, another world premier show. In this dark comedy, a mother has barricaded herself in her home to avoid being sent to a nursing home. Her youngest son, who has mostly ignored the family for years, climbs through the second story window to talk to her. They explore their past and learn how alike they are.
