Description:
Classy dining venues are springing up all over Saigon this days and this is one of the best of them. Located at the more salubrious end of downtown in a plush modern building, Cepage makes some pretty enticing moves from the off. The downstairs bar incorporates cutting edge design, airy glass frontage, comfortable armchairs and a cocktail and wine list as long as your arm. Indeed, it's as good an upmarket watering hole as any in town. The food, however, is definitely worth heading up the spiral staircase for. German chef Andreas Ertle is one of the most talented cooks in town and his contemporary cuisine is endlessly creative. Expect dishes such as beef Carpaccio with avocado-coconut Guacamole and a Parmesan cracker and sea bass fillet baked in Japanese wood paper with a leek fondue. Throw into the mix a wine list that spans almost 20 pages and you've got a formula for one of the best evenings out in town.
