One of metropolitan Guadalajara area´s newest malls, Plaza Ciudadela features 250 local commercial shops. Half indoors and half outdoors, Plaza Ciudadela (Citadel) is intended to be part of a commercial and residential complex featuring four tower buildings next to the mall. The towers are yet to be constructed. As is common in Guadalajara malls, large chain stores serve as attraction points. At Plaza Ciudadela, you will find a Wal-Mart, a large theater complex (Cinepolis) and a Liverpool, a favorite department store chain here and roughly the equivalent of a Macy´s. There is an international food court and a Jonny Rockets should you get homesick for a hamburger and fries, American style. The mall is open from 9am to 8pm Monday through Saturday and 11am to 6 pm Sunday and offers over 3,000 parking spaces.
