NileGuide Expert tip:
If you want to eat on the terrace, make sure you have a reservation - it's always full in the summer. You can also ask to reserve a table on the terrace during dinner for some after dinner drinks, and perhaps something will clear up.
Description:
Once a luxurious private villa, El Huerto de Juan Ranas offers a romantic dining experience in a picturesque location. Situated at the base of the Mirador de San Nicolas, this well-known restaurant has a luminous dining room and terraces that overlook the Alhambra, Albayzín, and Sierra Nevada. A modest selection of tapas, mains, and wine includes vegetarian-friendly options such as
berenjenas a la miel (eggplant in a rich honey sauce) as well as Moroccan-influenced dishes like lamb served over couscous. Food portions and presentation are excellent, although prices are a bit steep. However, it's worth the experience of relaxing with good company while enjoying the best views in Granada. The accommodating staff will happily seat you at a table even if only to sip on a glass of Rioja as the sun disappears behind the illuminated Alhambra. Main courses 19€-35€; Menus del día: 53€-58€.
