Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center offers some of the best cross country skiing to be found in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It's extensive network of trails that wind their way through scenic pastures, meadows, forest and old carriage roads situated directly across from the towering summit of Mount Washington. Great Glen does a superb job of keeping all of its trails well groomed, tracked and accessible to visitors for a full day of very enjoyable Nordic skiing. Furthermore, the trails are clearly marked with plenty of options for skiers of all levels – from beginner to expert. The center's trail passes and ski rentals are reasonably priced, as well. During the warmer months, Great Glen transforms itself into a premier mountain biking center featuring smooth, gravel surfaced roads that stretch and criss cross through forest and meadows. Here, too, there is a wide offering of clearly marked trails for bikers of all levels – from novices to advanced cyclists. As with its cross country skiing operations, bike trail passes and rentals are affordable.
