Description:

Designed in 1896 by a young Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the Glasgow School of Art was completed in 1909.

One of two independent art schools in Glasgow, it has produced most of Scotland's leading contemporary artists including Simon Starling in 2005 and Richard Wright in 2009, two of the last five Turner Prize winners.

It remains one of the world's finest structures of the twentieth century. As it is still a working art school, the Mackintosh Building can only be visited by guided tour. Tour tickets may be reserved by calling, emailing or  from the Mackintosh Shop, at the Glasgow School of Art.
