Merchant City
The trendy Glasgow Merchant City, has a colourful past and zesty future. It lies in the east of the city and is one of the oldest areas of Glasgow , St Mungo founded the city here and it is also home to the infamous city merchants of the 18th and early 19th centuries. Today this eastern quarter is experiencing a renaissance with some of Glasgow's most upmarket stores, restaurants, bars, theatres, galleries and music venues.
