Big-name attractions and larger-than-life landmarks shouldn't be missed, but neither should Glasgow's less-well-known activities. Dig a little beneath the surface, and check out the neighborhood things to do. These are the activities locals like to do-and tourists would too, if only they knew about them. But, lucky you, you're plugged in. Have fun.
Mercat walking tours offer a spooktastic Horror Walking Tour. The tour guides channel the macabre of Glasgow with tales of ghosts, murderers, and body snatchers. The tours last for an hour and depart from the Tourist Information Centre at George Square. There is also a Discover Glasgow tour for those who can't handle ghouls and goblins.
The Family History Centre's archives and special collections area in the Mitchel (on Level 3), provide a guide on how to research your family tree and regularly hold family history talks and workshops. They also hold a vast collection of documents, databases and web resources for your use, whilst carrying out your family history research. Be sure to phone phone for dates and times. The librarians are extremely helpful and friendly, they also may undertake some limited research on your behalf. Best of all all their services are FREE!
Due to an overwhelming demand from local skateboarders, the city of Glasgow built the Kelvingrove Skate Park in 2003. Featuring quarter pipes, rails, ledges, and stairs, the park was designed by taking into consideration the suggestions of skaters who currently use the park everyday.
