What to do when the kids can't stand another museum?
Take one of the 19th c paddle steamers on the Lake of Geneva which is like Disneyland for kids. Operating usually from April to October and sailing to all points on the Lake where you can disembark and explore before returning to Geneva (or take the train back). There are other boats during the winter season that can also offer a variety of itineraries. Kids and adults also love the Rhône river cruises which are less dramatic but which get close to nature.
For some real excitement take your kids up to nearby cable car to La Salève a mountain overlooking the city of Geneva . Go a little further up in the Jura Mountains for hiking in summer and snow play winter at La Givrine in the St. Cergue area. If you have more time take an excursion to Chamonix, France and see Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc.
In the city some good lively fun can be had at the Varembé swimming pool or the Centre Sportif du Bout-du-Monde (Sports Center) for rock climbing and other sports.
If you're walking around town and your kids are bored stop in Jouets Weber (toys) or Au Paradoxe Perdu for the largest collection of English comic books around.
Once the kids are finished using all of their energy and yours, take them to the chocolate bar Gilles Desplanches, Chocolate Bar for hot chocolate and goodies so they'll sleep well and so will you.
