Gay and lesbian travelers will find a warm welcome in Frankfurt, which is one of Germany's "cozier" destinations. In addition to lots of gay-friendly places to eat, drink, dance and revel, the official gay district is in the Konstablerwache, a popular paved square near Alte Glasse Street (and packed to the gills during Frankfurt's Pride celebrations each July). Nearby are noteworthy memorials, such as the Mahnmal Homosexuellenverfolgung in Klaus-Mann Square and the AIDS-Memorial "Verletzte Liebe" ("Hurt love") at the St. Peter's Church cemetery.
