Description:

Warm Mineral Springs, one of the best kept secrets in Southwest Florida, is located in North Port, about a mile off Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41) a few miles beyond Venice. The 50 minerals in its soothing 87 degree waters attracts thousands of visitors from as far away as Eastern Europe. A number of bathers have written testimonials about the mineral water's healing powers. The largest warm spring in the nation, it is shallow around the circular perimeter, but out beyond the protective ropes the warm mineral water bubbles up from a depth of 230 feet every day of the year. The owners promote the springs as the "fountain of youth" sought by Spanish Explorer Ponce de Leon.  Divers have uncovered evidence of a mastodon and a saber tooth tiger plus a human skull dating back 11,000 years. For a fee of $20, adults can soak in the spring all day. Children under 12 pay $8.
