The MNAF or "Museo Nazionale Alinari della Fotografia" holds a history of photography from the 1880s to the present. In the collection of photography that is preserved here, there are 2,750,000 black and white and color negatives presented on many different types of photo modes, from plates to fotocolors. More than 900,000 vintage prints which can be seen on salted paper prints, albumen, the bromide, calotype negatives, daguerreotypes, etc. These are works by the greatest photographers of the nineteenth and twentieth century Italian and foreign. A collection of cameras and other objects related to photography is also on display, and a special exhibition has been created for visually disabled visitors. The museum doesn't only collect the work and evolution of photography over 160 years, but also the tools that have produced the most beautiful images of an era, presenting a collection of cameras, advertising, paper, frames and all those objects connected to the photograph which can be considered as part of its history.
