Parks and gardens are prevalent all over the city of Florence. They are places to rest, to lay out on a cozy blanket, to have a picnic. When you are walking all day, you will be grateful to find one of these gardens to rest your feet. Giardino dell'Orticoltura is a free garden to enter that is located near Piazza della Liberta. This garden has many events and markets during the spring, summer and autumn seasons. With flower markets, antique markets as well it is always a great stop. The most popular destination for gardens is the Boboli Gardens. It is the very fancy and vast backyard of Palazzo Pitti. You will have to pay to enter this masterpiece but it is worth it. Especially during the first days of spring, when the flowers start peaking their colorful heads into the Tuscan sunlight. Each park and garden has a history and are taking very good care of.
